Selena Gomez cancels ‘Tonight Show’ appearance after contracting COVID-19

Selena Gomez canceled her appearance on ‘Tonight Show’ on Monday after learning that she contracted the coronavirus.
The 22-year-old singer, who was supposed to host ‘Tonight’ with a musical performance, instead said she couldn’t participate in the show because she’s “currently experiencing a lot of symptoms.”
“Due to my symptoms and my concern for my daughter, I am canceling my appearance,” said Gomez in a statement. “My love for my daughter and how much I want to protect her is at the heart of everything I do. My doctors and I believe this decision is in her and my best interests.”
Gomez said that because of her current condition she decided to postpone the show until she’s fully recovered.
“As you know, as many of you have seen on social media, I am currently experiencing symptoms of COVID-19. That said, I am deeply saddened and concerned about the impact this disease will have on my life and on my daughter.”

Gomez’s scheduled performance at The Abbey Theatre in Hollywood on March 6 was canceled.

“I will continue to do anything I can to support the health and wellbeing of the people around me,” she added. “I can’t allow for the health of my daughter to be put above my career.”
Gomez, who rose to fame with her 2010 debut album ‘Remember Me’, has been making headlines ever since. She recently admitted that she has struggled with feelings of low self-worth in the past few years.
Just recently, she said that she used to be a virgin, but then she fell in love and got married.
Her ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber recently confirmed that they still love each other.
