The network announced Tuesday that Keri Russell will make her debut as a co-host on The View in October.
The View host: ‘Keri Russell is hilarious’
Keri Russell and Will Smith are co-hosting The View during the fall, and they both agree they share a lot of comedy.
Russell, who is a frequent guest co-host on the show, says she’s been “incredibly humbled” with the show, while Smith, who has co-hosted multiple times, says he’s been “caught up in every joke.”
On Tuesday morning, The View announced its full lineup of co-hosts, including Keri Russell returning as the show’s first female co-host from the start of the new TV season.
She’ll join the show with co-hosts Smith and Jennifer Lopez.
“Keri has been a funny lady from day one of her acting and comedy career, and now a hilarious woman in real life,” host Joy Behar said in a statement. “She’s going to do a great job co-hosting The View.”
When Behar announced that Russell was joining the show, it was revealed that she had signed on to co-host the show after The View was first announced as a co-host. However, Russell was quick to put everyone (including herself) at ease by telling fans that she was only joining The View temporarily.
“Yes, I am an actor with a history of appearing on the Comedy Central Roast of Will Smith, who has hosted two times, so that will most likely happen soon,” she said in a statement.
Despite the two celebrities’ quick comments, the co-hosts confirmed their news in a joint press conference, on Tuesday afternoon, at the New York Television Festival awards ceremony
