Vitreous: Stevenson’s 2012 Senior Design Exhibition Explores the Materiality and Functionality of Glass, Through June 9

Stevenson University presents “Vitreous,” the 2012 Visual Communication Design Program’s Senior Exhibition. The exhibition will feature design works focusing on the material and functional qualities of glass by five graduating seniors. The exhibition’s focal point will be a “pixel” mural of 1,200 four-ounce glass jars.

“The senior exhibition this year promises to be an exciting divergence from what we have done in the past, in that all the work in the show was created for the show,” said Amanda Hostalka, Professor and Chair of the Department of Visual Communication Design.

The Senior Exhibition will run Thursday, April 19 through Saturday, June 9, 2012, with an opening reception on April 19, 5:30-8 p.m. in the Gallery, located on Stevenson University’s Greenspring campus, 1525 Greenspring Valley Road, Stevenson, MD, 21153. The event is free and open to the community.

Stevenson’s Gallery is open to the public Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, 11 a.m.-5 p.m., and Saturdays, 1-4 p.m.
